Have you heard of StreetSafe? |

Dear Resident
It has been documented that the fear of crime can be as bad and sometimes worse that an actual crime itself, because it can affect a much larger population.
I am sure that you will be able to name an area where you would feel uncomfortable walking alone, for reasons such as there is no street lighting, no CCTV, worried about being followed, overgrown tees/bushes and many other reasons.
StreetSafe was set up to allow the local community to report concerns that they may have, without having to share their details, once information has been submitted it can help the Police and Local Authorities to identify Environmental or Behavioural issues so they can improve community security.
StreetSafe can be accessed through this link, there are full instructions on how to complete the report, but please note that this system should not be used to report a crime or if there is an emergency. They should still be reported using 101 or 999 in an emergency, there is also the option on the Humberside Police website using the report tab at the top of the page.
For StreetSafe to be successful, it does require people to report as many locations as they can, so please try and put some time aside to report those areas that concern you, so improvements can be made to your area.
Feel free to share this message or post it on social media. Further crime prevention advice is available on the Secured by Design website.
Regards
Jamie
